Ready for Convention!

Yep!  With a few days to go, I have all my swaps ready (with the help of my Stampin' Fairies!) and now just need to pack my bags!  I leave on Wednesday and will be back late Sunday evening and will be crammed full of ideas and inspiration to share!  I have been so fortunate to attend every Convention since I signed up to be a demonstrator in March, 2003!  This will be my 12th Convention!

So before I go do laundry, I wanted to share my final swap-

This card uses the Star Framelits (which I love!) and the new Star Decorative Masks.  Pacific Point, Real Red and Whisper White are the colors used.  Isn't this a great card?

More Convention Swaps...

Only three weeks til the Stampin' Up! Inspire, Create, Share Convention!  I have been working feverishly, with some help from a few special demo friends, and have pretty much all of my organized swaps done.  Just a bit of final packaging and five swaps are complete.

These are in addition to the Kind Koala card in my past post HERE and the Work of Art card in THIS post:

The top card uses the technique where you scribble marker onto an acrylic block, spritz with water then stamp.  This is something that never looks the same twice, and give such a great focal point to a card front!  The bird and nest is from the new "World of Dreams" stamp set.

The middle card is probably my favorite of the three.  This uses many of the new In Colors - Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon and Tangelo Twist.  Easy card to make, but I love the lay out!

The bottom card is quick and easy - just stamping, some red Glimmer paper highlights and put it on Cherry Cobbler card base.  Voila! Fini'!

All in all, I can report that my obligation swaps are complete.  Now, since I do have three weeks, maybe I can even make some general swaps!

Convention Swaps?

So...the Stampin' Up! Annual Inspire, Create, Share event is being held in July and I NEED SWAPS!

I figured I should get off my duff and get going on creating some swap ideas.  I have signed up for several organized swaps and since I have many new sets from the new Annual Catalog (see link to the right or click HERE) that I can choose from, there should be no excuse!

I spent some time in the classroom this morning and have come up with this idea...presented in a couple of different ways...

I love this cute little Koala and thought it would be fun to paper pierce him.  I chose some Designer Series Paper from the Neutrals family, stamped him and "fussy cut" him out.  I stamped the whole stamp on a piece of Whisper White, then using Dimensionals, I popped the cut-out up on top.  (SECRET TIP: then I don't have to worry about coloring him in!)

The arrows are the punched out pieces that are the result of using the Chevron border punch, adhered with a spot of the liquid Tombow glue.

One design uses the Ovals framelits, and the other uses the Scallop Tag punch.  And I can't decide which I like the best!  Give me your thoughts!
