Now that the calendar is done, I have actually stamped a card! Gasp!
A co-worker will be celebrating her 40th birthday while she is on Spring Break next week, so we decided to have her celebration yesterday. Of course, I was asked to make her a card. While this was the big 4-0, I didn't go overboard on the card, since we will be decorating her office and piling gag gifts on her desk for when she gets back! Sneaky, eh?
This turned out to be a fun card! I used Basic Black as the card base. I added a square of the Bride's Specialty Designer Paper which has Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo ink sponged on it. I took one of the large flowers from the Pretties kit, stamped the small dotted background stamp (which was inked with Melon Mambo) onto the flower for a great look! Then I added the Pumpkin Pie Five Petal Flower to the middle, added a Melon Mambo flower punched from the Boho flower punch, and added the large half pearl. This worked great for the card, since we weren't mailing it.
I used the Three Little Words stamp set, which is a freebie selection during Saleabration (ending on March 31st...sniff) to stamp the sentiment, which is layered on Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo. THEN....
inside, I used the computer generated sentiment "You are old, Happy 40th!" How fun! We got our "over the hill" digs in, but in a nice way. Now she won't be expecting anything else, and will think she has made it through without a big deal. HA!
