Pretty Tealights!

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!  My DH shared his germs which caused me to come down with the summer head cold which started on Sunday.  Yuck!  So I am home from work today, trying to rest up so I feel like going to work tomorrow.  I hate when I miss work!

I held a fun workshop last evening for Christy and her friends...she always books my first workshop out of a new catalog...and we had a great time.  We did a masculine card using the Sentimental Journey stamp set and matching designer paper out of the Summer mini catalog.

I used Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla cardstock and Night of Navy ink, with a piece of the Travel Journal designer paper.  Masculine cards are sometimes hard to design, since flowers and frills don't work well for them, but this travel theme can be adapted to work for about any occasion.  This design was inspired by a fellow blogger whose card wasn't watermarked.  Please let me know if this resembles your card so I can give you proper credit!

I always do two projects at my Totally Hands On workshops, and our second project was a fun tealight creation!  We used the battery operated tealights, and the Tropical Party stamp set and matching designer paper, also from the Summer mini.  I had one made up in honor of Independence Day to show how these can be made for any occasion!  We used a strip of designer paper to match the height of the actual tealight, which can be different for each type of tealight.  This particular tealight used a piece 3/4" x 5".  I then used the new 2-3/8" scalloped circle punch for the top, cutting an "X" in the center to slip over the flame part.  I clipped between each scallop so they could be molded and adhered to the sides, using the liquid Tombo glue.  A few flowers stamped and cut, added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter, and they were done!  Too cute!
