Two more sleeps...

...and it will be time to leave for Convention!  I have been too busy to get excited, but now that the time is winding down, I'm starting to feel the electricity that is the Big Event! Smiley from millan.net

My family has once again come to my rescue....by spending time helping me prepare my swaps...and here it is two days before I leave, and we have made 75 cardfronts for an organized swap, about 175 general swaps, and by tomorrow night I will have 40 3"x3" cards done for another organized swap!  How's that for coming in under the wire!?!  My DH is such a trooper to cut cardstock and stamp and assemble while I was a work during the day.  My DS and DDIL came over Friday evening to help, and my DDIL was totally sick with the awful bug that I have been fighting, and they still stayed 4 hours helping with my swaps.  I am so blessed!

I am so looking forward to the frenzy that is swapping, and seeing all the cool new items that will be in the Memento Mall, and listening to the class speakers, and learning the new techniques and seeing the new products in action.  Convention is my very favorite time of the year!  I come home all pumped with new ideas for projects and ways to improve my business.  Totally awesome!

While I can't show you my Conventions swaps yet, those will be next week after I'm back home, I do have a card to share with you all.  Sunday was my sister's birthday, so my sisters all met for lunch on Saturday to celebrate with the birthday girl.  I made this card for her...and I love, love, love how it turned out!

The pictures may not show true color, but the card base uses our new Peach Parfait cardstock, with a layer of Soft Suede.  I ran a piece of the new Designer Paper called News Print through the Big Shot using the Top Note die and cut it into pieces and sponged all edges with Soft Suede ink.  I stamped the coneflower from Inkspired by Nature on Very Vanilla cardstock using Chocolate Chip Craft Ink then clear embossed it and cut it out to layer on top.  This really was an easy card to do.  It did take a bit of time to do the embossing and cutting, but I love the Vintage-y look of it.

So now I need to get to bed, since I will have a full day tomorrow and a busy evening - packing and finishing up those darn swaps.  I hope to take my laptop to report in on all the happenings, so check back to see what I have been up to.

I don't know yet which day I will be walking stage for the $20K award, I assume that will be included in the materials when I check in and pick up my Convention bag...sure hope I can find someone to take my picture again.  Smiley from millan.net
