November 2 - I'm thankful for...

...a life partner who "gets" me.  My husband is so caring and tries so hard to make sure that *I* am taken care of, often times at the expense of things *he* might want.  We will soon celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary, and I probably should have kept this post until then, but he deserves two posts.  :-)  Even after so many years together, we are still laughing and having fun.  I love you, John!

Today's card uses a technique called 'Faux Patina', that looks difficult, but is really, really easy!  What do  you think?

Basically, I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock, ran it through the Big Shot with an Embossing Folder that had been inked on one side with Crumb Cake.  Then I sponged randomly with Marina Mist, Always Artichoke and Early Espresso...leaving lots of the previous color to show through.  The final step was to, again randomly and with an extremely light hand, sponge Versamark on top, add Gold embossing powder and heat set.  Voila!

See how awesome this is?
